Throughout the 1980s, we witnessed a succession of TV commercials that helped change how we viewed the world. With so many great choices, it’s hard to single out just ten. But here are some of our favorites among them most famous 80s commercials:
Energizer Bunny

You can’t help but smile when you see this adorable pink bunny bouncing around with infinite energy while promoting its brand. It was first introduced in 1989 and has continued ever since as a symbol for battery power everywhere!
Calvin Klein Obsession
This famous 80s commercial was a groundbreaking ad for its time. The advertisement features models Kate Moss and Sophie Dahl, who were not only gorgeous but also provocative in their poses and movements. With this controversial yet intriguing TV spot, Calvin Klein popularized the notion of being “Obsessed” with what they’re wearing.
Michelob
In 1984, Michelob launched an advertising campaign focused on women who work outside their homes – with slogans like “The only thing better than being at home with Michelob is being at work with Michelob”. It was also one of the first cases in which advertisers promoted beer to women.
Axe
Created in 1983, Axe has been around for nearly years and it’s still going strong today. This brand targeted a young audience with its commercials that showed teenage boys looking very fashionable and attractive.
Nestea Plunge
This famous commercial was created in the year of 1980. It features a woman who is introduced to Nestea and then decides to take a plunge into her pool with this refreshing beverage. This made people want to drink the tea which led it being one of the most popular brands at that time.
Nike
In 1987 Nike aired a famous commercial that showcased their newest and most popular shoe. This running shoe was known as the Nike Air Max because it had air in the heel for stability purposes.
Lipton Tea
It’s hard to imagine now, but the commercial for Lipton’s instant tea was famous in its day! The TV spot featured a man with a mustache who poured milk into a cup of Lipton’s Tea and stirred it.
Where’s the Beef?
Wendy’s famous “Where’s the Beef?” commercial was aimed at fast food competitors who often had less beef on their hamburgers. The ad showed a scene in which two people were sitting down to eat hamburgers and fries from competing restaurants, but when they put their forks into each other’s meals, all they could find was bun and lettuce.
Spuds MacKenzie
One of the most famous mascot dogs for a product was Spuds MacKenzie, who represented Budweiser beer. The dog was known for being a party animal and he became quite popular during his time as an ad icon.
McDonald’s Piano Recital
McDonald’s aired a commercial in 1984 that featured its new system where customers could play the piano with their food. The ad was filmed to look like an actual recital, but when it ended, and the curtains closed – McDonalds logo appeared on them.
Tootsie Pop and Mr. Owl
The Tootsie Pop commercial is also famous for showing a talking owl, Mr. Owl, who was trying to convince the viewer that they should eat one of these candy lollipops. Mr. Owl ends with the slogan “How many licks does it take to get to the center? Nobody knows!”
Leggo My Eggo!
This famous 80s commercial is for a waffle with the slogan “Leggo my Eggo!” The commercial shows two people who end up fighting over the last Eggo (waffle).
Cadbury Creme Eggs
The Cadbury Creme eggs are another product whose name has become synonymous with Easter eggs. The famous 80s commercial for this product stars a bunny who is trying to hide his chocolate eggs from children, but ends up getting caught.
