The Grampa Doll is a cloth rag doll stuffed with cotton from the 1970s that is designed to resemble a grandfather figure. There was an optional matching Gramma doll that could be purchased.
The Grampa Doll was sold by Sears & Roebuck and was a Joyce Miller Original.
It came with a set of removable shirt and pants. The Gramma doll also came with a removable dress and apron. There was option to purchasing a bed that came with the Gramma dolls face on it. Additional Gramma dresses that could be purchased though Sears, although I could not find any other clothing options for Grampa.
The Grampa Doll was likely used as a plaything for children. But many of the dolls, in the original box, survive today because they were purchased as collectables. The second hand market has many for sale in good condition, both with and without the box, though estate sales and online auctions.
