M.A.S.K. stands for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand. It was a cartoon series and toy line that aired from 1985 to 1986. The series followed the adventures of a special task force called M.A.S.K., who used high-tech masks and vehicles to fight the criminal organization V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem).
The main characters of M.A.S.K. included:
Matt Tracker: The leader of M.A.S.K. and the pilot of the Rhino.
Gloria Baker: A member of M.A.S.K. and the pilot of the Switchblade.
Hondo MacLean: A member of M.A.S.K. and the pilot of the Condor.
Clay Bailey: A member of M.A.S.K. and the pilot of the Thunderbolt.
Bruce Sato: A member of M.A.S.K. and the engineer of the team.
Scott Trakker: The son of Matt Tracker and a member of M.A.S.K.
The main villains in M.A.S.K. were V.E.N.O.M., led by Miles Mayhem. Other members of V.E.N.O.M. included:
Modulok: The weapons specialist of V.E.N.O.M.
Sly Rax: The pilot of the Piranha.
Cliff Dagger: The pilot of the Rattler.
Vanessa Warfield: The pilot of the Stinger.
Each member of M.A.S.K. had a special mask that granted them special abilities, as well as a special vehicle that could transform into a weapon. Some of the M.A.S.K. masks and vehicles included:
Rhino: Matt Tracker’s mask allowed him to turn invisible, and his vehicle was a pickup truck that could transform into a tank.
Switchblade: Gloria Baker’s mask allowed her to see through solid objects, and her vehicle was a helicopter that could transform into a jet.
Condor: Hondo MacLean’s mask allowed him to fly, and his vehicle was a plane that could transform into a glider.
Thunderbolt: Clay Bailey’s mask allowed him to control electricity, and his vehicle was a sports car that could transform into a helicopter.
There were a total of 75 episodes of M.A.S.K., which were divided into two seasons.
M.A.S.K. aired on the CBS network in the United States. It was also broadcast in other countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and France.
In addition to the cartoon series, M.A.S.K. also had a successful toy line produced by Kenner. There were also several comic books and video games based on the M.A.S.K. franchise.
